From our Archive

This is an image that dates back to the early 90’s. Rodney was a dancer from New York working in theatre in Edinburgh when we met him. We produced a large number of studies both solo  and with Karen one of our favourite models. Shot on the Hasselblad on T Max100 and this original was printed onto Kodak Ektalure paper stock.

Our final visit to VENEZIA

We are now back home after a wonderful, but final, workshop in the beautiful city of Venice. When we say final however we do plan on a return visit later this year with one Riona in order to create some unique image for ourselves and perhaps a new book or portfolio.

As always we stayed at the UNA Venice which must be one of the best boutique hotels in Venice. The staff are superb and without question the most helpful and friendly we have ever come across.

This is an image created on the workshop in one of the many, many V lanes and allyway’s in Venice.

The Secret Garden with Riona Noir

We have an upcoming Art Nude workshop in the walled gardens and grounds of a private castle on the east coast of Scotland around a 40 minute drive from our studio. It runs from 10.00am through to 5.00pm and includes a picnic lunch. The date is Sunday June 3rd 2018.

This workshop is limited to only 5 delegates and we have just had one delegate email to cancel his place so we now have 1 place available. The costs is £395.00 inc. Payable by BACS or Paypal.

VENEZIA the final visit

Monday will see us returning to the beautiful city of Venice for our 5th and last visit. I know we said that last year was our final trip but we were ‘persuaded’ to make one final return and of course we are delighted that we have the wonderful Riona with us again as our model. I must say she is one of the most hard working, professional models around today and her attention to detail is outstanding.

Riona will be back with us again in June for our Art Nude workshop in our ‘secret’ private castle in Scotland. This is now fully subscribed but if there is interest we can organise another one in early September. Drop me an email for details.

This is one of Faye’s images from 2 years ago in Venice when we had Carla and Zoi with us. Carla is sitting under the cloisters in St Mark’s Square around 6.45am on a chilly April morning but the image looks so peaceful and serene. In fact it made it into our recently published book YERBURY NUDES which can be purchased from our website at and head for the shop.

I spoke recently on social media about finding, quite unexpectedly, 2 rolls of exposed but unprocessed rolls of TriX taken in 2013 in Chateau St Just which is just north of Paris. It was a workshop organised by our dear friend Kitty Cohen and her husband Bruno and our fellow workshop leaders were Kim and Gina Weston from California. Kim is the grandson of Edward Weston.

Having only recently exposed a few rolls of TMax100 I took the opportunity to develop the recently discovered films obviously making suitable adjustment to the processing time considering they had lain the the back of a cupboard for 5 years! However we had great success and the film looks well exposed and developed. I have made scans and contact sheets and this is one image that particularly drew my eye and I do like not only the position of the model but the amount of sunlight streaming through the windows and the reflection in the large ornate mirror behind.

The image was made on my old Hasselblad with my much loved chrome 150mm lens.  I do think that this image may well make it into our upcoming book, The Negative Years due out later this year.

‘The Negative Years’

During the selection process for our NUDES book, we began to realise just how much work we had in our archive and especially film work from the 80’s and 90’s.Many of the images from that period were printed for various exhibitions, but very few have been seen since.

Now with the resounding success of our NUDES book and the many, many generous comments and suggestions as to when the next book would be, well, we have spent several days looking through the thousands of images on film and realised that we did have more than enough work to produce a second book.

This book will fall very nicely into our film period and will cover work from the early 80’s though to recent work shot in analogue.

The title sold itself to us,

We will produce the book in the same format as the current book, same size, same stock, same printers in Verona the only difference will be the cover which will be a shade of mid/dark grey.

We intend to launch the Kickstarter appeal in April/May and if successful we will make the final selection of work which will be included in the book, then to have the negatives drum scanned before the final layout and design.

We plan on printing taking place in September with delivery to us in October, then the books would be dispatched in November well ahead of the Christmas rush.

This is a heads up of our book plan for this year ahead and having looked through all the work we produced on film, are very excited to seeing this book in print.

The book is large format printed in duo tone in Italy, is a Limited Edition of 500 copies, signed and numbered.  The book is £75 plus £15 postage and packing in the UK, £20 if shipping to the EU and £25 for the Rest of the World or we have a Collectors Edition Limited to only 50 copies presented in a beautiful embossed box @ £150 plus the same postage and packing costs and this includes an A4 print.

To order a copy of the book is very simple. Just make payment through paypal –  and we will ship out your book.

Workshop Available

Due to a last minute cancellation we have 1 place available on this unique and exclusive workshop with International art nude model Riona Neve. As we are selling this place for the delegate we can offer it at the early bird discount price that he paid.

Exclusive Art Nude workshop

We are delighted that we have managed to persuade our dear friends to allow us to host a 2nd, and final, art nude workshop in the grounds of their historic private castle on the coast of Fife. We have exclusive access to the 8 acre Victorian walled garden, the woods and surrounding grounds which offer a host of stunning opportunities. Our model will be Riona Neve who worked with us on the last workshop and she will be flying over from her home in Belgium for the weekend. Again only 4 delegates on this bespoke workshop. The venue is around 40 minutes from our home at Claremont but we all meet here first and travel over as a group as the venue is hard to find.
