This will possibly be our last UK Art Nude workshop before our move to Spain this summer. Pipewell Hall is a unique property and we have exclusive use both indoors and around the stunning grounds. Faye will be conducting the Luxurious Lingerie in the beautiful rooms while I will be hosting the art nude part of the day in the grounds of the house. Each group of 4 will change over twice in the morning session and again twice in the afternoon. We currently only have 2 places still available. Refreshments and a stunning lunch are included.
Last November I was honoured to be one of the 10 UK based photographers to be invited to work with a pre-production model of the X-Pro2. Now I am not good at writing knowledgeable, technical reviews of equipment I leave that to those who know what they are talking about suffice to say I love this son of the X-Pro1 and have used it continually since it was handed over to me. I have been asked by many photographers why I prefer this to a DSLR and all I can answer is that ‘it feels right’. And when I say it feels right I mean that it sits in your hand as if its been there forever. Its like an extention of your eye via your hand if that makes sense! I am also aware that it is only a camera, a tool to capture your vision but what a delightful tactile tool to work with. I always use the back screen to focus and compose and I suppose that takes me back to working with large format, 10×8 and 5×4 and also a Hasselblad. I can ‘see’ the subject, I have visual contact and I can adjust and crop with far greater control than by the eye piece. However that’s just me and I am sure others have different methods of working. But one thing I do know is that by using this method it most certainly slows you down, it makes you think, it make you consider before pressing that button and that makes all the difference to me.
This image was only shot on Monday while we were hosting a workshop in Nottingham. Its only window light with a polyboard reflector. I used the X-Pro2 with my favourite 56mm lens. 500iso 1/160th sec @ f1.8. Set on the monochrome with the green filter. This is the jpeg file. Styling and hair was by Faye and our model was Lisa Marie Greeves. The ‘flare’ softening effect was created at the time of exposure in camera and is not any PS or other action applied in post.
We will only be hosting 2 Art Nude workshops in the UK this year and the first will be at the delightful Pipewell Hall our first return in over 2 years. Yesterday we announced our first ‘Studio Art Nude’ workshop with only 3 places and working with one of our favourite art nude models. The 27th November has only one place left and the 13th December still has 2 places available.
You will be working with various lighting modifiers including beauty dish, fresnel spotlight and we will also show how we created our White Nude series and offer delegates the opportunity to create their own white nude image. Lunch and refreshments are included.
This is a heads up for anybody interested. We have sourced a stunning private villa with pool etc. in sunny Lanzarote for a workshop November of this year. The villa is positively 5*+ and we will have 2 top models with us for the workshop.
Details are and dates are still being finalised but if you would like to be one of the first to be offered this unique opportunity then drop me an email to be put on the ‘exclusive’ list. trevor@yerburystudio.com
An image I made of Zoi and Riona in the hotel taken during our recent workshop in Venice. Wigs and styling by Faye of course and Kitty supplied the jewellery.
Our next workshop is planed for Prague later this year so if you are interested then drop me an email or join our private Yerbury Art Nude page on Facebook.
We are delighted that Zoi, who was one of our models in Venice, will be staying with us in Scotland in July while she is visiting family. Zoi has agreed to so a small one day workshop with us on Monday the 20th July and we are restricting it to 5 delegates. It will be on location which we have yet to decide but possibly at a friends castle on the Fife coast which is about 40 minutes from us. It has a 6 acre Victorian walled garden, woods and access directly to the beach. The cost for the day, including a picnic lunch, is £350 inc. However 3 places have already been snapped up so only 2 places available. Call us on 01501 744909, 07545062255 or email trevor@yerburystudio.com This is unique opportunity to photograph one of Europe’s finest art nude models.
Well we have been back from Venice for over a week and are just starting to work on some of the images we created. We all had a wonderful experience, 11 delegates and 2 superb models, Zoi and Riona. Gordon and Aileen hosted a fashion day while Faye and I did our Art Nude workshop with delegates swapping over on day 2. We are now looking at other ideas for next year, perhaps Paris or Prague? However Venice was the perfect setting for what we wanted to achieve. We set our alarms for 5.00am so were out of our hotel by 6.00am and on our way to the first locations. The streets we mostly empty and we even managed to do a a nude in St Mark’s Square. We stopped the early morning session by 10.00am and returned to our hotel for a very welcome breakfast. Faye restyled hair, make-up was freshened and we set of about 90 minutes later for the next session when we headed for the quieter areas of Venice finishing up around 2.00pm leaving time for some sightseeing before dinner. Faye and I were so impressed with the possibilities we may well return later this year to host an Art Wedding workshop and perhaps back again on our own next year to create some personal images for our collection.
